After 30 years in newspaper journalism in Kamloops, I know that every person, family and community has a story worth preserving. Portraiture is a powerful and meaningful way for people to share how they feel about the people they love.
It wasn’t until I lost a hard drive with 40,000 images that the importance of printed photographs became deeply personal. It changed the way I see the work I do. The images that are important to us deserve to be seen, held and passed on, not left vulnerable as digital files on a device.
That’s why I care so much about helping families tell their stories through meaningful photographic artwork; images we hang on our walls.
I’m proud to call Kamloops home. People here are down to earth, community-minded and willing to work together to make this city better for everyone. Supporting local charities is one small way I can give back to the place that has given me so much.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me fishing, on my bike, exploring the outdoors, photographing landscapes or stopping to take pictures of wildflowers.
